Reader Reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I haven't seen this show in years. While Gomer is a little sillier than I remembered, the show still works today. Sgt Carter is really a great character! I also like how they recycle characters. You will see one in one role and later playing a different character. Also I wonder why they couldn't settle on an assistant for the Sgt. It seems about every episode (I am on season 2 now) there is a different person playing the part. One was Jimmy Olsen from Superman! (Jack Larson) Anyway, this set has been very enjoyable so far. I am slowing down as I don't want to finish them all and have no more to watch! I bought seasons 1-3.
