When a group of teenagers lead by Jenny ( Rene Zellweger) are lost on their way to the prom but they are taken away by a psychopathic biomechanical legged bad guy named "Vilmer" ( Matthew Mcconaghey and his psycho cannibal family including "Leatherface" ( Robert Jacks) who want them tortured and prepared for dinner as Jenny must try to find a way out. This movie is the worst movie of the series with only part 2 and 3 being fairly enjoyable including the 2003 remake of the 1974 masterpiece! This movie was never released before not until 1997 to cash in on the success of "Scream" and preety much recut, but feels less violent than it's precessors for that point. This had the early debuts of now popular actors and actresses Rene Zellweger and Matthew Mcconaghey, it's preety much of a remake of the 1974 but without the suspense or terror of that movie but i think your better off with part 2, 3 and the 2003 remake than this movie. The DVD is fair with decent picture and sound! it does only have one extra which is trailers to other Columbia titles including this movie and filmographies of the stars and filmmakers.
