I am a huge fan of both Stephen King, and Linda Hamilton, but found this movie only bearly tolerable. Frightening, it was not. Peter Horton plays the hero, a doctor that is so obtuse that he's constantly leaving his beautiful girlfriend ( Hamilton ) alone in a town that seems to be missing a few things ( adults, for instance ). Hamilton was good, even in this. The movie itself was watchable largely because of her, but I kept asking myself: how did this pic ever spawn one sequel-let alone five.
