Based on a true story, this movie is one of the best movies from China. It's a pity that it has not been well-publicized. When it premiered in Beijing in December 2007, it was shown on the biggest movie screen ever - the size of a basketball court! Deng Chao, one of China's mainland rising stars, played Er Dou in this movie. He's going to be a big star. Don't miss this movie! It made me cry, laugh and wish it were longer. I don't see how it was compared to "Saving Private Ryan" - where's the connection?? "Assembly" stands well on its own. Another great one from China. A keeper!
