Against anything I could have expected Bewitched was a wonderful, satisfying, make you feel good movie that just happened to be on TV on Monday night. I have always loved the original show ever since I was young, scheduling my nights to Nick at Night, gobbling up Samantha Stevens and her poor husband Darren, who had the best time in their lives, even though she was a witch and her tricks seemed to back fire all the time. Now this movie is not exactly as you would think. I had no idea of the premise when it started and I was really surprised by the refreshing twist; actors who were making a remake of the show, who had no idea that Samantha the character would have a real life witch plating a witch on TV. Nicole Kidman, never my favorite before, gave a delightful performance as charming Isabel Bigelow who disarmed Jack Wyatt, played by Will Farrell of all the people, and watched him turn from a spoiled TV star to a bum of all jokes, just like the Samantha and Darren we all know from the show. Jack was the star of the show, on the lookout for his perfect Samantha, someone who can twitch her nose but more important and unknown woman who will not outshine him at his own show. He found the quiet, gentle and sweet Isabel, unknowns that she can have a cranky temper and who will make him sweat while his ridiculous star demands arose. The quarrels produced by the duo surpassed all that I could have hoped for. I laugh so many times I almost fell of the bed and let me tell you, there wasn't one moment where the momentum wasn't in full swing as this was the perfect romantic comedy even if you don't like them. I know they are one of my least favorite types of movie to watch yet this grabbed my heart and filled it with much joy. The best part was the fact that Jack had no idea she was a real witch, and she took full advantage of her magic on that fact. She made him speak in funny voices on the set in different languages, miss his cues, spoiled his lines, and played tricks on his ex-wife. That was only the beginning, before she got mad. . I enjoyed watching the movie revolve around plot's twist and turns form the turbulent moments in the beginning to smooth sailing and then dark skies ahead. The more Jack got involved with Isabel the less truth he knew. The day she started to fall for him was the day she knew she was in trouble. I knew that the real Bewitched story would unravel just like original show, this time following real life Isabel and Jack. I know I would have never watched this on my own, and that's why I felt a little bad after seeing it, since it made me feel so free and happy. Bewitched was a full of colors and jokes, tricks and magical spells, friends who turned on each other and who made up, spoiled movie starts who got their composure back and of a witch who always wanted to be loved and who really started her own crusade for that goal. This is a real fun flick to watch with someone you love or even with your favorite kitty, and be prepared for some fun times and sparkling charm to pour out of the screen. I don't care if this is not the coolest movie ever made, I enjoyed it and I'm proud of it, after all that's the point of movies, they should make the viewer feel good and this sure fit the bill. - Kasia S.
